Comfortable, Safe, Fun Pet Lodging and Day Care

Whether traveling for business or pleasure, there is plenty to prepare for without having to worry about who is going to take care of your beloved companion. This is especially true if your pet has a chronic or acute medical condition that requires a caregiver with veterinary knowledge and experience.

Rather than impose on a neighbor or rely on a pet sitter, Indian Hills Animal Clinic offers veterinary-supervised boarding for your dog or cat that is affordable, safe, and comfortable. The caring, experienced veterinary staff is dedicated to providing personal attention to your pet. Any special health needs, such as medicine administration, food preparation, and exercise requirements will all be reviewed with you at the time of check-in.

We offer each pet Science Diet food, but you are welcome to bring your own food if your pet is on a special diet. Toys and personal items are also welcome to help make your pet as comfortable as possible.

First-Class Pet Boarding in Tuscaloosa

The North Tuscaloosa pet-boarding facility is first-class in every respect. Built in 1994, and completely remodeled in 2014, its design offers expansive indoor runs, large cat condos, windows for outside viewing, climate-controlled kennels, and a large suite set-up with a bed, TV, and access to a private exercise yard. A separate heating and air conditioning system regulates the pet boarding facility temperature while ensuring a disease-free environment for your pets.

Boarded animals are exercised regularly in the hospital's impeccably clean indoor and outdoor exercise yards. Dogs are walked three times daily on Monday through Friday, and twice daily on Saturdays and Sundays.

Required Tuscaloosa Pet Vaccinations

Vaccinations are necessary to protect your pet from diseases and viruses, for the protection of other pets, and to protect humans from transmittable diseases. We require that all boarding dogs and cats be current on the following vaccinations:

  • Rabies
  • Canine Distemper
  • Canine Influenza H3N2
  • Leptospirosis
  • Bordetella - renewed every 6 months

  • Rabies
  • Feline Distemper
  • Bordetella

Vaccinations must be given before or on the check-in date. If your pet has been vaccinated at another facility, we must have a copy of the current vaccination record on file in order to board your pet. It is your responsibility to make sure your veterinarian has sent us this record. Your pet must be vaccinated when checking in if proof of current vaccination history is not provided.

In order to protect the well-being of the pets in the hospital's care, we reserve the right to refuse any pet for boarding that may have a contagious illness or other problems.
